What is positive + negative space?

Positive Space is the space inside the area of an object or shape

Negative space is the area around and object

Sketchbook Assignment //

1. Fill an entire page of you sketchbook with a variety of shapes.
2. Next you will draw a line down the middle of the page.
3. on the left side of the line you will color in with sharpie on the positive space.
4. On the right side of the line you will color in only the negative space.
