Bring a book to life

manipulation to tell a story. You can pull your inspiration from a book, folk tale or movie. Using the basics of selecting and combining images you will blend them by adding light, shadows. The story you tell you up to you.

To create your designs you will explore the skills we developed for the photo manipulation + the color of emotion projects. You will use the selection tools, layers, blending modes, color opacity, layer masks, selection tool and size to develop your story.

1. Select a story you want to tell. It can really be anything. I suggest you select from a movie, or book. That way it will be easier for you to find images to use.

2. Do a Google search for a bunch of images that you could use for your story. Find a sky, a ground, images that you can cut out to make stand up off the book) and any other images that you feel express the story you selected.

3. Start to build your file. Create a new document 19 w x 13 h in Photoshop.

4. Build the background first. You will need a surface for the book to rest on and a background for

behind the book.

5. Now start to build the story that will bring your book to life.

6. When completed save the file as Class_lastname_book.jpg
